When she is brought there by the mysterious—and surprisingly cute—messenger Michael, she learns that her father is dying, and he wants her to assume the throne. To complicate matters, a war is brewing between the Shadowlands and the Underworld, her half-demon qualities are manifesting, and her gowing feelings for Michael are completely forbidden. Ruling a kingdom, navigating a secret crush, and still making it home by curfew—what's a teenage demon princess to do?

Hush, Hush

For Nora Grey, romance was not part of the plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how much her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch came along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Nora is drawn to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure who to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is, and to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For Nora is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost her life

Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

His new physique attracts the attention of queen bee Bethany Milbury, who just so happens to be his fathers boss's daughter, the sister of his biggest enemy and Tyler's secret crush. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson

Every time I try to talk to my parents or a teacher, I sputter or freeze.... It's like I have some kind of spastic laryngitis." What could have caused Melinda to suddenly fall mute? Could it be due to the fact that no one at school is speaking to her because she called the cops and got everyone busted at the seniors' big end-of-summer party? Or maybe it's because her parents' only form of communication is Post-It notes written on their way out the door to their nine-to-whenever jobs. While Melinda is bothered by these things, deep down she knows the real reason why she's been struck mute...

Wintergirls by Laurie Halse Anderson

Clicking to Give!

Some of you may have heard of 'Clicking to Give' websites! If not, 'Clicking to Give' websites are charity websites that have sponsors who donate to them every time somebody clicks! Most 'Clicking to Give' websites have a policy of 'A Click a Day'! But that's what makes it so easy. It only takes a daily click, and you get the satisfaction of knowing you helped someone! I personally started clicking a few months ago. The amazing thing is I'd never heard of 'Clicking to Give' websites before! Wanna guess where I heard about it? Surprisingly I found a 'Clicking to Give' button on random book blog, and followed the link. After that, I became a daily clicker! Or, at least I tried. After all, I'm a very busy person with a procrastination habit, and sometimes I forget. But, in the event that I remember, I stop whatever I'm doing (online shopping, entering a contest, English report, ect.) and go click. Now why am I ranting about this you ask? Well, last night I couldn't sleep and I decided to Google some other 'Clicking to Give' websites! I found a really cool website called http://www.thenonprofits.com/ that linked to several 'Clicking to Give' websites! Now before you on over there, I just want to say that 'New Clickers' shouldn't start with multiple 'Clicking to Give' websites! The reason for this is because, despite the ease and quickness of clicking, multiple 'Clicking to Give' websites can eat your time, and before you know it, it's so time consuming that you've STOPPED clicking! Which is why it's better to start with a 'Clicking to Give' website that has several clicking opportunities (Hunger, Breast Cancer, Animals, ect.)! I personally started with http://www.thehungersite.com/! My intelligence clearly shines through with the fact that it took me several weeks to notice the interconnected clicking opportunities at the top of the page (Hunger, Breast Cancer, Child Health, Literacy, Rainforest, Animal Rescue)! I also found a nice site with interconnected clicking opportunities (located on the left, you can't miss it!) that I had never seen before last night at http://www.care2.com/click-to-donate/ (Children, Rainforest, Big Cats, Breast Cancer, Pets, Oceans, Primates, Global Warming, Stop Violence, Wolves)! So my top to recommended sites for new clickers are...

http://www.thehungersite.com/!

http://www.care2.com/click-to-donate/

So please, spare a second and help make the world a better place!

Love, Haiely (or Shadowofwonder47)

If you support this cause, feel free to repost this on your website, blog, ect, but make sure you don't take edit anything out (including this, that way your readers can also repost!!).

When two more popular students disappear after their names are mentioned on Str-S-d’s blog, the residents of Soundview panic.

Meanwhile, Madison receives anonymous notes warning that she could be next. Desperate to solve the mystery before anyone else disappears, Madison turns to Tyler, but can she trust him when it becomes clear that he knows more than he’s sharing?

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima
Book Description:
Times are hard in the mountain city of Fellsmarch. Reformed thief Han Alister will do almost anything to eke out a living for himself, his mother, and his sister Mari. Ironically, the only thing of value he has is something he can't sell. For as long as Han can remember, he's worn thick silver cuffs engraved with runes. They're clearly magicked-as he grows, they grow, and he's never been able to get them off.

While out hunting one day, Han and his Clan friend, Dancer catch three young wizards setting fire to the sacred mountain of Hanalea. After a confrontation, Han takes an amulet from Micah Bayar, son of the High Wizard, to ensure the boy won't use it against them. Han soon learns that the amulet has an evil history-it once belonged to the Demon King, the wizard who nearly destroyed the world a millennium ago. With a magical piece that powerful at stake, Han knows that the Bayars will stop at nothing to get it back.

Meanwhile, Raisa ana'Marianna, Princess Heir of the Fells, has her own battles to fight. She's just returned to court after three years of relative freedom with her father's family at Demonai camp - riding, hunting, and working the famous Clan markets. Although Raisa will become eligible for marriage after her sixteenth name-day, she isn't looking forward to trading in her common sense and new skills for etiquette tutors and stuffy parties.

Raisa wants to be more than an ornament in a glittering cage. She aspires to be like Hanalea-the legendary warrior queen who killed the Demon King and saved the world. But it seems like her mother has other plans for her--plans that include a suitor who goes against everything the Queendom stands for.

The Mediator series by Meg Cabot
About the series

(This piece was taken from
http://www.megcabot.com/mediator/about.php, and is written by Meg Cabot)

I first got the idea for The Mediator series after my father died in 1994. My brother and I kept thinking we saw him out of the corners of our eyes. I know it was just a trick of our unconscious, but it did seem a little like Dad-who had a good sense of humor, and played a lot of pranks-was haunting us, in a joking way. That got me thinking-what if there WERE such a thing as ghosts? And what if, instead of just the ghost of someone YOU happened to know and love, you were someone who could see EVERYONE's ghost?

When I mentioned this to my brother, he groaned, "You're not going to write a book about this, are you?" I started writing one that day-a book that eventually became SHADOWLAND, the first book in The Mediator series, about a sixteen year old girl who can see and speak to ghosts (only no one in her family knows this) and who moves, with her mother, from Brooklyn to live her new stepfather and brothers in California, where she encounters Jesse, a spirit like no other-and to whom she later proves to be bound by destiny.whether she likes him or not.

And she definitely does.

I chose Carmel as a setting because when my brothers and I were kids, our father taught at the Naval Academy in Monterey, CA, and we lived in Carmel, CA, and went to the Junipero Serra Mission School, just like Susannah Simon, the series. I've never forgotten the beauty of Carmel, or the haunting mystery of the mission, so I based the books there (although all the characters at the Mission School and in the Carmel of the books are fictional).

I originally planned there to be 8 books in the series in all. Simon and Schuster contracted me for 4 books, but the books didn't end up selling at all, and after the publication of DARKEST HOUR, they chose not to buy my proposal for the next four books in the series (in other words-I got fired).

I was devastated. But life goes on. Happily, The Princess Diaries series WAS selling well, and when I broached the subject of continuing The Mediator series with HarperCollins my Princess Diaries publisher, they agreed to not only publish two new books in the series, but purchase the previous books in the series and reprint them. I'm eternally grateful to HarperCollins for breathing new life into The Mediator series, and allowing me to finish it up the way I'd planned to.

I have no plans on continuing The Mediator series past six books at this time. I'm happy with where I've left Suze and Jesse in TWILIGHT, and hope readers are as well. To continue the series would mean to introduce further conflict into Suze's world, and I feel like she deserves a rest after everything she (and I) has been through with this series. I'm grateful to all the readers who've stuck by this series, and hope you'll look forward to the new paranormal series I'll be writing in the future!

Thank you!

Love, Meg

(The above piece was taken from
http://www.megcabot.com/mediator/about.php, and is written by Meg Cabot)

1. Shadow land

Suze is a mediator—a liaison between the living and the dead. In other words, she sees dead people. And they won't leave her alone until she helps them resolve their unfinished business with the living. But Jesse, the hot ghost haunting her bedroom, doesn't seem to need her help. Which is a relief, because Suze has just moved to sunny California and plans to start fresh, with trips to the mall instead of the cemetery, and surfing instead of spectral visitations.
But the very first day at her new school, Suze realizes it's not that easy. There's a ghost with revenge on her mind ... and Suze happens to be in the way.

2. Ninth Key

Everything is going great for Suze. Her new life in California is a whirlwind of parties and excellent hair days. Tad Beaumont, the hottest boy in town, has even asked Suze out on her very first date. Suze is so excited that she's willing to ignore her misgivings about Tad ... particularly the fact that he's not Jesse, whose ghostly status—not to mention apparent disinterest in her—make him unattainable.
What Suze can't ignore, however, is the ghost of a murdered woman whose death seems directly connected to dark secrets hidden in none other than Tad Beaumont's past.

3. Reunion

The RLS Angels are out for blood, and only Suze can stop them—since she's the only one who can see them. The four ghostly teenagers died in a terrible car accident, for which they blame Suze's classmate Michael ... and they'll stop at nothing until he's joined them in the realm of the dead.
As Suze desperately fends off each attempt on Michael's life, she finds she can relate to the Angels' fury. Because their deaths turn out not to have been accidental at all. And their killer is only too willing to strike again. [close]

4. Darkest Hour

When the nineteenth-century ghost of Maria de Silva wakes her up in the middle of the night, Suze knows this is no ordinary visitation—and not just from the knife at her throat, either. In life, Maria was the fiancĂ©e of Jesse—the same Jesse who was murdered a hundred and fifty years before. The same Jesse Suze is in love with.
Maria threatens Suze: The backyard construction must cease. Suze has a pretty good idea what—or rather, who—Maria doesn't want found. But in solving Jesse's murder, will Suze end up losing him forever? [close]

5. Haunted

Suze is used to trouble, but this time she's in deep: Ghostly Jesse has her heart, but Paul Slater, a real flesh-and-blood guy, is warm for her form. And mediator Paul knows how to send Jesse to the Great Beyond. For good.
Paul claims he won't do anything to Jesse as long as Suze will go out with him. Fearing she'll lose Jesse forever, Suze agrees. But even if Suze can get Jesse to admit his true feelings for her, what kind of future can she have with a guy who's already dead?

6. Twilight

Suze has gotten used to ghosts. She's a mediator, after all, and communicating with the dead is all in a day's work. So she certainly never expected to fall in love with one: Jesse, a nineteenth- century hottie. But when she discovers that she has the power to determine who becomes a ghost in the first place, Suze begins to freak. It means she can alter the course of history ... and prevent Jesse's murder, keeping him from ever becoming a ghost—and from ever meeting Suze.
Will Jesse choose to live without her, or die to love her?

Twilight is the sixth and final book in the Mediator series.

Oh! By the way, from what I can tell, this series was origianlly published under different titles, but the titles were changed, for one reason or another.

1. Shadowland (Love You to Death)
2. Ninth Key (High Stakes)
3. Reunion (Mean Spirits)
4. Darkest Hour (Young Blood)
5. Haunted (Grave Doubts)
6. Twilight (Heaven Sent)

Just in case somebody comes across an older version, that way they won't be confused.

The 1-800-WHERE-R-U series by Meg Cabot
About the series

(This piece was taken from http://www.megcabot.com/1800/about.php, and is written by Meg Cabot)
I first got the idea for the 1-800-Where-R-You series-- about sixteen year old Jess, a girl with the psychic power to find missing people--after a friend and I went for a walk one day in downtown Manhattan and got caught in a terrible thunderstorm. We tried to ride out the storm under some metal scaffolding (not very smart!) and of course it got hit by lightning. We were all right, but we both wondered.would we get psychic powers now?
Of course we didn't (darn!) but I couldn't stop thinking about what KIND of powers I could have gotten. The best, I thought, would be the power to find missing people. When I mentioned this to my friend, she groaned, "You're not going to write a book about this, are you?"
I started writing one that day-a book that eventually became WHEN LIGHTING STRIKES, the first book in 1-800-Where-R-You series.
Of course, Jess has another unnatural talent as well.for finding trouble! This doesn't make her too popular with Rob, the hot guy she sits next to in detention, who manages to find trouble all on his own, without her help.enough to get him on probation, which is reason enough to make him determined to stay away from Jess.much to her chagrin.
I set the book in a fictional town in Indiana (you'll notice I never say the NAME of the town in the books). It's based on the town I grew up in, where there were Grits (people who lived in the country) and Townies (people who lived in town), and a lot of prejudice.but also good people who didn't care if you were a Grit or a Townie, as well. While I made Jess a tough girl who gets into fights-I did get detention once or twice for fighting. It's what happens when you grow up with brothers-I, like Jess, did eventually learn that solving problems with your mind and not your fists is ALWAYS the answer.
As with The Mediator, I originally planned 1-800-Where-R-You as an 8 book series. The publisher who bought the rights only wanted 4 books, though, and when those didn't end up selling well, that publisher chose not to buy my proposal for the next four books in the series after the publication of SANCTUARY, effectively ending the series in what I considered the middle of it! I was pretty bummed, as you can imagine.
Eventually the television rights to the series got picked up by one of the producers to The Princess Diaries movies (Debra Martin Chase), and the series ran (as the show "Missing") on the Lifetime Channel for several seasons (though the television series was VERY different from the books, and really had no relation to them at all).
Fortunately, my Princess Diaries publisher said they would publish more of the books in the series if I wanted to write them. And that's how the final book in the series, MISSING YOU, came to be. I'm eternally grateful to HarperCollins for allowing me to finish up the series.
I have no plans on continuing the 1-800-Where-R-You series past five books at this time. I'm happy with where I've left Jess and Rob in MISSING YOU. They've been through a lot! I'd like to let them have a well-deserved rest.
I'm very grateful to all the readers who've stuck by this series. I hope you'll look forward to the new paranormal series I'll be writing in the future!
Love, Meg

1. When Lightning Strikes JESS MASTRIANI
was misunderstood by her teachers and had a crush on the local bad boy, but that didn't mean she was trouble. But trouble found her when she survived a lightning strike and discovered that a newfound talent had been bestowed upon her.
Now, whenever she sees a picture of a missing child, Jess knows exactly where he or she is when she wakes up the next morning. Reuniting lost children with their desperate parents is one thing, but Jess must choose whether to use her power for good...or for evil.

2. Code Name CassandraJESS MASTRIANI
was dubbed "Lightning Girl" by the press when she developed a psychic ability to find missing children after she was struck by lightning during a huge storm. Now Jess has lost her miraculous powers...or at least she would like the media and the government to think so. All she wants is to be left alone.
But it doesn't look like Jess is going to get her wish -- especially not while working at a summer camp for musically gifted kids. When the father of a missing girl shows up to beg Jess to find his daughter, Jess can't say no. Now the Feds are on her tail again, as is one ornery stepdad, who'd like to see Lightning Girl...well, dead.

3. Safe House JESS MASTRIANI
was on vacation when Amber went missing. Most people blame Jess for Amber's brutal slaying, but how could Jess -- even with her psychic ability to find anyone, anywhere -- have stopped the cheerleader from turning up dead, without having known she was even missing?
When yet another cheerleader disappears, Jess has a chance to redeem herself. If she can just find the girl before it's too late, maybe Jess will finally have a chance to be part of the in crowd. Except that it's starting to look like being "in" might just get you -- not to mention your loved ones -- killed. So much for popularity.

4. Sanctuary JESS MASTRIANI
Knew she wasn't going to be able to hide her psychic powers from the U.S. government forever. But she never thought that she and Dr. Krantz, the special agent brought in to convince Jess to join his elite team of "specially gifted" crime solvers, would have something in common.
When a local boy's disappearance is attributed to a backwoods militia group, it turns out that Jess and Dr. Krantz have the same goal. Suddenly Jess finds herself collaborating with one enemy in order to stop a far worse one. In an atmosphere of hate and fear, Jess and Dr. Krantz must work together to unite a community and save a life...without loosing their own.

5. Missing You Ever since a walk home on a particularly stormy day, Jessica Mastriani has had an ability like no other. She became known worldwide as Lightning Girl—a psychic who could find the location of anyone, dead or alive. Jess finally had no choice but to embrace her newfound talent, and ended up lending her skills to the U.S. government.
But her work for them has taken a terrible toll, and Jess resurfaces months later a shadow of her former self, her powers gone, Lightning Girl no more. Her only hope is starting over in a new place, a big city where nobody knows her. It's only when Rob Wilkins unexpectedly shows up on her doorstep that she's forced to face her past. Rob, all the way from back home, needs her help. But how can Jess, her powers gone, find anyone, let alone the sister of a man she once loved . . . when she can't even find herself?

Missing You, the fifth and final book in the 1-800-Where-R-You series
